Estrella’s chips are not made from just any potato. Estrella grows specially selected potato varieties. Some of the varieties used are Lady Rosetta, Lady Claire, Lady Britta, Kiebitz, and Arsenal. The potatoes grow out in the fields, but most importantly: they give extra bra chips!

Estrella has its own contracted potato growers in Halland and Skåne who are all IP certified. This means that the growers follow a set of regulations for the environment and food safety, and that they are audited by an independent part. After harvesting, the potatoes are stored in their modern warehouse in Kistinge. Here, the potatoes are stored in a controlled environment to maintain the quality and make the best chips possible.

The Swedish potatoes come to Estrella’s factory in Angered in fine Estrella trucks, and the Danish potatoes via Öresund or by ferry. For their chips, they use a unique mixture of sunflower oil and rapeseed oil, with as good a fat composition as olive oil, and with absolutely fantastic taste, of course. At Estrella, the judge carefully checks every step. The frying must take place at exactly the right temperature, it must be seasoned just right, and green or discolored chips must be removed. Finally, the chips end up in the store. You can choose whether it’s spicy, salty, finely ribbed, coarsely ribbed, smooth, thin, or crunchy chips that you bring home.

Till deras chips använder dom en unik blandning av solrosolja och rapsolja, med lika bra fettsammansättning som olivolja, och med helt fantastisk smak förstås. På Estrella kontrollerar domen noga varje steg. Friteringen ska ske i exakt rätt temperatur, det ska kryddas precis lagom, och gröna eller missfärgade chips plockas bort. Till sist hamnar chipsen i butiken. Du kan välja om det är kryddiga, salta, finräfflade, grovräfflade, släta, tunna eller knapriga chips som får med dig hem.
